I'm repelled by "1000 Ways to Die"'s cheesy realizations of real deaths, mostly accidents, which the producers both sexualize with costume, movements, etc. and grossify with detailed medical commentary and animated diagrams.

They appeal to the morbid worst in all of us, not just sadomasochism but timidity, agoraphobia, depression and withdrawal. The rhetoric oscillates from "stupid people soon find the fool-killer" to "no one, nowhere, no-when is remotely safe" and feed the anxious and pathological to little erotic benefit.

I don't despise or even deplore people who like these autopsical vignettes but I still need to say this.

I understand your feelings and I am the same way about scenes containing excessive gore, dismemberments and ultra realism! As a matter of fact, only about one quarter of my clips do I find erotic and fit my tastes. my goal is to provide a database of clips that cater to a wide variety of tastes! Like or hate the show, 1000 Ways are some of my most downloaded recent clips! Personally, I see the show as a tongue in cheek dark comedy and accept it as such...The show does feature some very acctractive women dying in a variety of ways...Sometimes sexy, sometimes not! You can't take a show were strippers dressed as cheerleaders are electrocuted at a car wash too seriously!

I never did see how "it's only a joke. Whatsa matta, can't ya take a joke?" is a valid defense for "what you're saying/showing is freaking reprehensible".

I have an even better defense...don't watch it if you don't like it! 1000 Ways is relatively tame compared to the blood, guts, gore a dismemberments that some folks like...

Hi!

I am with Big O on this one. Out of the many clips on this site that I find erotic and a real turn on there are just as many that I find a real turn off. This is not to be seen as judgemental, simply personal taste.
To avoid clips that some find off the mark and distinctly unerotic is to impose some form of censureship and that would not be to the advantage of this great place on the web!

This is not about O, or even general taste, but an older question -- still loathesomely possessed of zombielike life from Deadskirts -- about "jerking off with human blood," getting off on representations of real deaths, which is a steadily booming business on that board. This junk tv series repackages grisly deaths from the news in image-bites, adding jiggling flesh and physiological factoids.

Concerns about such blurring of the fantasy-reality boundary include:
1. It makes the board look callous and bloodthirsty, and its members incapable of separating or unwilling to separate fantasy and reality;
2. It attracts, concentrates and reinforces the worst elements -- criminal sexual sadists;
3. It's offensive to people who've lost loved ones, both specifically (in those or similar accidents) and in general.

Low-budget tv scum repackaging gruesome accidents as music-video-style jiggle-porn doesn't nullify these concerns by providing a market middleman, but rather brings them into sharp focus by making such emotional pus generally available.

Have to disagree...1000 Ways does not show real deaths and there is even a debate as to whether they are very loose comedic dramatizations of actual deaths or just urban legends! Half of them seem like they were made up or came from The Enquirer!...If dramatizations of past real events is distasteful, that would let out just about every historical or biographical show or movie!

Even though it is based on a real person and events. I happen to like Sylvia Kristal's firing squad death in Mata Hari...I can separate the real from a dramatization in my fetish interests and I think most of the folks on the forums can as well. I emphasize that I like REEL deaths not REAL death scenes!

You can pick apart and talk about the distastefulness and implications of any death scene! People would find it twisted and perverted that we get a charge out of watching ANY death scenes at all! Why is it OK to watch a babe take a silencer shot to the belly or an arrow, but 4 strippers electrocuted at a car wash in cheerleader outfits is somehow off base? They are both dramatizations when you come down to it!

I respect that 1000 Ways may not be to your taste, I just happen to take exception to the point of view that folks who enjoy it are somehow blood thirsty, callous or sexual criminal sadists!

Not that they are but rather that by endorsing this trash we appeal to and facilitate that minority, which already exists among us, to increase its number and influence.
